Torwudzo Family Story

Sparks fly at Victory Field

The memories made on Victory Field are unforgettable, but the ones made in the stands often become the most cherished. For Taylor and Charles Torwudzo Victory Field didn’t just offer Indians baseball – it marked the beginning of forever.

The couple met in the summer of 2015. Taylor was working as an in-stadium emcee and Charles spotted her on the big screen from his seat in the outfield. That moment sparked a connection that would change both of their lives.
“I remember seeing you when I was finishing one of my reads and walking up,” Taylor said. “It was almost like you timed it perfectly.”

Over time, Taylor and Charles continued to run into each other at Indians games and around downtown Indianapolis. Ten years later, they’ve started a family of their own and now frequently bring their daughter, Normani, to the ballpark.

“This is definitely the place to be when you have a family,” Taylor said.

Between Kids Eat Free Sundays, Knot Hole Kids Club and other family-friendly promotions, Victory Field has remained one of the family’s favorite Indianapolis destinations and continues to be a staple on their itinerary when hosting.

“We know we can grab some good drinks, there’s going to be a good baseball game, there’s always a good vibe,” Charles said. “Depending on the day, there might be fireworks at the end. It’s a one-stop shop in a lot of ways.”

For the Torwudzos, it’s more than just a ballpark. It’s a place where new memories continue to unfold.

From first games to lifelong traditions, every fan has a story. What’s yours? Celebrate over six generations of Indians baseball by sharing your favorite memory.
